Whether you are buying or selling real estate in North Carolina, you should be ask by the real estate agent at "first substantial contact" to review this brochure. Once you have reviewed it and the real estate agent has answered any questions you might have, they will ask you to sign it simply acknowledging that the agent has furnished you a copy of the brochure and has reviewed it with you. It is NOT an agency agreement - Buyer Agency Agreement form or seller agreement.
There are several scenarios that a real estate agent can represent your interests, and this brochure will not only explain each, it offers a glimpse of the services a real estate agent can provide and how they are paid.
Once you review this brochure, you will understand some of the pitfalls in not establishing an agency agreement with a real estate agent prior to getting in their car, meeting them at their listing or sharing other valuable information with them that could be used to your disadvantage during negotiations. |
